National ADA Symposium

All sessions attended at the National ADA Symposium may be applied as credits toward the ADA Coordinator Training Certification.

The following sessions offered at the ADA Symposium meet the requirements for foundation credits.

  • Self Evaluation & Transition Plans (5.5 credits)
  • Role of the ADA Coordinator (2.5 credits)
  • ADA/ABA Guidelines (2.5 credits)
  • Title I Guidelines (2.5 credits)
  • Effective Communication (2.5 credits)
  • Public Rights of Way (2.5 credits)
  • Reasonable Accommodation (2.5 credits)
  • Emergency Preparedness (2.5 credits)

All other sessions at the ADA Symposium may be applied toward elective credits.

Note: ADA National Network’s regional ADA Centers on-site trainings, on-line courses, webinars and audio-conferences on specific ADA related topics may be applied toward the ACT Certification Program.

Trainings offered by other organizations may also be applied toward the ACT Certification Program. However, applicants must submit information regarding the training to the ACT Certification Program for review before credits are awarded in order to ensure the training meets the criteria established by the ACT Certification Program. ADA Basics Building Blocks --meets the pre-requisite requirement.

ADA Employment Course -- A self-paced course on the employment requirements in Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), including the revisions in the ADA Amendments Act of 2008. (Foundation Credit for Title I Guidlines)

Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act --on-line 9 module tutorial designed to provide the basic principles and core concepts of Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA). (3 Credits, Elective Category)

At Your Service: Welcoming Customers with Disabilities--self-paced webcourse on best practices for working with customers who have disabilities. (2 credits-Title III, Elective Category ) Note: The post-test must be completed with a 90% rate to receive credits.

Overview of Disability Rights Laws -- A self-paced course on federal disability rights laws. (2 Credits, Elective Category)

Great Lakes ADA Center Audio Conference Series.

AccessibilityOnline
A collaborative training program between the ADA National Network (DBTACs) and the US Access Board. The program includes a series of free webinars and audio conferences on different topics of accessibility. Sessions are held on a monthly basis and cover a variety of topics concerning accessibility to the built environment, information and communication technologies, and transportation.

Federal Sources

All ADA related trainings from the U.S. Access Board, the EEOC, the U.S. Dept. of Justice and the Job Accommodation Network will be accepted for either foundation or elective credits.
