Course Description:
This is the case-study of a commercial building project as a means of applying select, fundamental accessibility design concepts based on accessible regulations. This program applies the 2010 DOJ Standards for Accessible Design (SAD) to alterations and new additions of two multi-story, large, existing buildings that were originally separated by open space, but eventually connected. Prominent harmonization and differences between the SAD and the International Building Code are discussed.
